My two favorite blog I've recently come across are run by two students from MS 51. The first one is called The Not Daily Blogger by Stephanie Aquino (813). She wrote about the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I really enjoyed reading this blog post because I can relate to her ideas and inferences she took from the book. I also have thoroughly read this book last year, and I had the same thoughts about the main character, Katniss. I liked how she used examples and quotations to support her theory that Katniss couldn't leave her district because of Prim and her mother. She explained in depth how Katniss feels the need to be protective of her little sister. Overall, this post says a lot about the main character and a universal theme for temptation and love.
Another blog I also quite enjoyed was Whats A World Without Books?! by Jamila Jahangir (810). Her blog post consisted of many thoughts about the book The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 by Sue Townsend. She first started out describing some important aspects of her book then went on to making inferences as to answering questions such as how the main character feels about his mother leaving him and his jobless father. Afterwards, she writes a clever poem from the point of view of the main character. I thought that was very interesting. Although I've never read this book, I've taken a lot from this post.

Teen Angst? Naaah..
I am currently reading this classic memoir by Ned Vizzini. Although it is a memoir, it sounds like your prototypical coming of age story, it still has that essence of realness. This book really explains the troubles and worries of a typical teenagers mind. So, continuing Vizzini's exemplary example of being young and wild, an original poem by yours truly:
Tick tok
Goes the clock
As time passes by
Sometimes too fast
Sometimes too slow
Worries and problems
Clutter my head
Thoughts of fright
Fill my head
I walk these hallow halls
With a blank stare on my face
Watching the lives
Of teens go to waste.
Tick tok
Goes the clock
As time passes by
Sometimes too fast
Sometimes too slow
Worries and problems
Clutter my head
Thoughts of fright
Fill my head
I walk these hallow halls
With a blank stare on my face
Watching the lives
Of teens go to waste.
